Solution for VOCs Treatment of Exhaust Gas in Lithium Battery Production Workshop


With the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry, the demand for lithium batteries is increasing. However, in the production process of lithium batteries, a variety of organic solvents need to be used, especially the electrolyte contains a variety of complex components such as N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP), which will volatilize in the production and processing links to form volatile organic waste gas (VOCs). Exhaust gas from the production process of lithium batteriesThe main sources can be summarized as follows:

1. Pole plate works:
Stirring slurry coating baking: in this process, NMP(N-methyl pyrrolidone) and other organic solvents are used to prepare the slurry, and after coating by baking to remove the solvent, this process will produce a large number of NMP containing VOCs exhaust gas.
Roll cutting: Although the main production is mechanical noise and a small amount of dust, but in some cases may also be accompanied by a slight emission of VOCs.
Laser die cutting and slitting: This process is mainly cutting and slitting, which produces relatively little exhaust gas, but potential VOCs emissions still need to be considered.
2. Assembly works:
Winding, JR preheating short circuit test, pairing, welding, vacuum drying
3. The conversion project:
Liquid injection, high temperature standing, formation, welding, cell charging and discharging, aging test, film coating

In the production process of lithium batteries, especially the stirring pulping and coating process in polar plate engineering, a large amount of exhaust gas will be generated. The treatment of these exhaust gases is very important to ensure compliance with national environmental protection standards and to protect the environment and employee health.

 

In order to strengthen the control and management of unorganized emissions of VOCs, China issued the Unorganized Emission Standard for Volatile Organic Compounds GB 37822-2019. The standard points out that the waste gas generated in the production operation should be discharged to the VOCs waste gas collection and treatment system, and discharged after the treatment meets the standard.
